Juniors Section

Hi everybody!

My name is Brian King, I organise and run the clubs junior fishing matches. We have five matches which run from June to October and are usually held on the second Sunday of the month at Moreton.

The matches start at 8:00AM (arrive at 7:45) and finish at 12:00PM. There is also a family match where one junior and one adult fish together and their points are added together and at the end of the four matches the highest points win the family trophy.

There are several trophies for the juniors to fish for and they are presented at the race / presentation evening normally a Saturday evening in May (see your membership card or the website events page for date and time). Also on this night the juniors are presented with some new tackle for taking part in the matches which the club buys for them.

The points system is run that 1oz = 1 Point up to 1lb. Any fish over 1lb is weighed and noted but will only count as 1 lb. There is also a handicap system to help the younger anglers against the older anglers.
